Samaesan is home to some great local diving and recent reports suggest the new T94 & T95 wrecks are already attracting a lot of marine life - So we're going to check them out.
The T94 and T95 were patrol ships built in Thailand in the late 20th century. These ships helped protect Thailand’s coast for over 30 years before being sunk as artificial reefs in September 2024.
We'll either dive the Hardeep or Koh Rong Nang depending on preference at the time.
The Hardeep Wreck (originally known as the SS Suddhadib) is an ex cargo/passenger vessel which was attacked during WWII and sank by Allied bombers.
Koh Rong Nang is a site just off a small island and offers diverse diving with coral lines, rocky areas, and drop-offs at depths of 5–25m. It’s one of Samae San’s most popular dive sites for its variety and underwater scenery.
The sites are all close to the pier and make for easy but enjoyable diving.
We’re gonna run this one as a day trip. Currents look good.
We have chartered a (very) small boat - Cost will be split evenly between all divers. Nitrox/Deco gas is available, as are limited carpool spots.
Plan about 3kTHB including gas.
